Ring Doorbell camera catches thief robbing a porch clean of its property

Yet another crazy incident was captured by a video doorbell (this time a Ring Doorbell). This happened to a Las Vegas (Nevada) resident on February 8th, 2022. The resident posted a video online showing a random stranger walking up to her door, and one by one, taking everything that is there. I’m not even talking about packages this round. This thief literally robbed the porch dry of everything that was sitting there.

This included a giant wooden welcome sign, pots, and even an entire bench. Meanwhile, the thief calmly packs it all into her car and drives away with it like there was nothing out of the normal going on. To anyone else, it might have just looked like someone redecorating or moving since many neighbors in newer neighborhoods don’t quite take time to get to know each other anymore.

Not only that, but this happened in total daylight where anyone could have been looking (7:20 AM in the morning). Kids walking to school, neighbors taking out the trash, or going for a morning stroll. Literally, anyone could have been watching and this woman didn’t even have a care in the world as she committed her actions.

Thankfully, cameras like these do wonders at helping to bring people together to identify and track individuals like this down. Helping to put an end to their crime sprees (and hopefully detouring others).

Online communities like Nextdoor or even Ring’s own community section (within the Ring app) help to bring individuals/neighbors in the surrounding area into the mix so they can know what is going on in their neighborhoods, sometimes even as it is happening.

Like when we published about a box thief back in 2017, where the video went viral. The video was shared as it was happening, triggering neighbors to try to stop the thief in his tracks. Local police later took the culprit into custody that same day.

So it really does help to have your own personal surveillance at your fingertips. It helps not only you but your neighbors as well. Hopefully, for Tana’s sake, the above thief is identified and captured so the property can be returned to its owner.
