Samsung has made its touchscreen smart fridge more appealing with the latest generation launching this year by increasing the size of the screen and rolling out a number of new features. It was originally announced at CES 2023 in Las Vegas and is currently available for pre-order via Samsung’s website.
The new model comes with a 32-inch touchscreen display built into the face of the fridge, allowing a much larger engagement with the content on the display than the previous models. From the screen, you can view what’s inside the fridge without having to open the door. As well as stream music and video, view certain cameras (ie, front door), and even manage your calendars. Allowing you to watch a tutorial as you prep your next meal, see what you’re running out of, and even order more.
It comes with many modern features but takes some of them to the next level. For example, it comes with a dual-type ice maker, allowing you to collect both cubed and bits of ice into separate bins. The water dispenser (aka “Beverage Center”) not only has an area to fill your glass with water but also has a built-in pitcher next to it that the fridge keeps filled automatically.
Of course, it’s a Samsung smart product, so it does have SmartThings support built-in with energy monitoring. Not only that, but the company will be updating the software this Summer (July) to allow it to support the new Matter standard. This isn’t too surprising being that Samsung is a major backer of Matter.
Like the other Bespoke series models, it can be customized to perfectly fit in with the design of your kitchen. Allowing you to customize the panels to fit in with the colors around the fridge. Or, you can simply buy it as-is.
It’s an expensive fridge with an MSRP of $4,999+ depending on the options you choose, but it isn’t exactly marketed to your typical consumer. This is clearly designed around those with pockets deep enough for serious custom remodeling of ones kitchen to make everything match. However, Samsung is offering $1,000 when it is pre-ordered, bringing that cost down to $3,999+.
Ordering the fridge from Samsung directly includes installation and even the option to haul away your old fridge so you don’t have to trouble yourself with how to dispose of it. For more information, you can visit Samsung’s website here.
