Samsung is letting you show of your pride in the great stars and stripes with a special edition of its smart BESPOKE series refrigerators. Great for kitchens themed after the colors of our great country, the fridge features the American Flag running down one of the doors, mixed with the silver tone everywhere else.
It’s part of the company’s popular BESPOKE series that allows owners to customize the fridge in various ways, including blending in with the cabinets and/or other colors in the area. In fact, you can almost build them right into the cabinets, outside of the fact that the fridge has to poke out ever-so-slightly (doors have to be able to swing open, which prevents a perfectly flush installation).
Also popular for being one of the low-profile Wi-Fi connected models. With the ability to interact with the Samsung SmartThings ecosystem, allowing the user to adjust temperatures, choose what they want the FlexZone to be (fridge, freezer, hybrid, etc), receive various alerts, as well as the ability to interact with other devices within the SmartThings system. Low profile, meaning there is no touch screen system or anything running across the front. Just a fridge that looks like any other fridge. Only, this one has a flag running down the front.
Normally, you find solid color options that come closer to modern kitchen design. However, Samsung feels there is a niche for taking things a little further. I mean, why not display the American flag across your fridge if the rest of your kitchen falls into the same thing? Even a mix of modern and rustic could benefit from something like this if you are creative enough.
Of course, most consumers are likely used to a solid color fridge, kept either bare or covered in magnets, reminders, and anything else they want to post. Having a graphic design running down your fridge seems like a niche that would be incredibly small. Then again, I am not exactly on top of the refrigerator market when it comes to average user analytics/preferences.
If this something you could easily see yourself investing in, you can learn more about it via Samsung’s site, here. The price is currently around $2,799 (from $3,798) and you can always opt for any of the other colors of the flag is a bit too much.
