This is a big year for 4K TVs as all of the major manufacturers push hard to make them become a standard in homes and content delivery. All the top brands have been demoing their latest in 4K, using new technology to enhance color and clarity even further. We have already covered LG, but now Samsung spends some time with us to go over their new Nanocrystal LED technology and how it benefits this year’s lineup of Samsung “S’UHD” LED TVs.
They also point out that the new S’UHD TVs will now look better than competing technologies, such as LCD and OLED. That is a heavy claim since OLED TVs have won the hearts of many. LG claims OLED is better, and Samsung argues that with their new models. From what we saw at this year’s CES, the new Samsung LEDs do give the OLEDs a run for their money (metaphorically speaking). I guess we won’t know until they hit the market and users start comparing using their own content.
We will be sure to bring you a full review if we get our hands on one.
