Today launches a new promotion between Amazon and Atom Tickets that allows you to score a free movie ticket using your Amazon Alexa speaker at home. The process is quite simple and you will be ready to watch a movie at a nearby theater in no time at all.
All you have to do is walk up to one of your Amazon Alexa speakers and say “Alexa, ask Atom for tickets to….” followed by the name of the movie, and it will get you started with the process. If you don’t already have the Atom skill enabled, Alexa will walk you through doing it so that you have access to the skill now and in the future.
The new promotion runs from March 16th through March 29th and allows you to obtain a ticket to what appears to be any movie you want. It will only work with the Atom skill on Alexa, thus you won’t be able to find it on their mobile app or website. So if you own an Alexa speaker have fun and catch a movie–at least, when it is safe to do so, and assuming that there are any theaters in your area that are open. Already, Regal Cinemas has announced that they are closing all of their theaters across the country until the COVID-19 situation is over. It won’t be long until other theaters follow suite.
Regal announces closure of all theatre locations starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020, as a precaution amid the current circumstances. All theatres will remain closed until further notice. Please check back soon. We look forward to serving you again as soon as possible.

Sadly, this comes at a time as the nation is experiencing mass business closure as the country works hard at reducing the spread of the coronavirus that has been sweeping the globe. So even if there are theaters open in your area, it might not be smart to rush out to a movie at this very moment in time. Thankfully, you have until the 29th to take advantage of it. So hopefully by then, things will have cleared up a little. Else we may all be losing this wonderful perk. Maybe they will try again at a later date if not enough people are able to take advantage of it this round.
