Seagate has partnered with Disney for some special edition Star Wars-themed NVMe and HDD models that have entered the market. These are the new Star Wars-Inspired Lightsaber Collection Special Edition FireCuda PCIE Gen4 NVMe SSDs. A long wordy model name, but the title says everything you need to know.
These new drives come with swappable heatsink faceplates with RGB lighting designed to look like a lightsaber. Adding a whole new touch of awesome when you turn your system on (you’ll definitely want to make sure you choose a case with a window for this one). There are three collectible faceplates to choose from, including Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader, and Luke Skywalker.

These are PCIe Gen4 drives, so they aren’t the fastest out there, but we still have yet to see PCIe Gen5 solutions enter the market and take their place (this won’t be happening until later this year or going into next year). For now, PCIe Gen4 still reigns as the current (available) champion and these drives bring everything you’d expect with it. Including read speeds of up to 7300 MBps.
They are available in 1TB ($184.99) and 2TB ($289.99) options, and are currently available and making their way to retailers. You’ll likely also find them listed here on Amazon when stock becomes available (Seagate’s special edition product page). The company also has Star Wars-themed external HDD solutions as well that are already available.
