You can add Sennheiser to the list when it comes to “true wireless” options when looking for a new pair of buds to buy into. Sennheiser recently announced its new MOMENTUM True Wireless earbuds at IFA 2018. Part of their Momentum lineup, you can bet they will come with performance in mind before anything else.
Each bud has a 7mm dynamic driver inside and of course Bluetooth 5.0 to provide the latest in wireless capabilities, including a huge data pipeline allowing for better sound and less latency if any at all (we have all of the specs listed below at the bottom of the article).
Being true wireless, they have zero wires running in between the buds, allowing them to be truly free. Simply two small buds that travel inside of a small pocket-size traveling case that keeps them charged while on the go (just like other popular models like the Apple AirPods (or their off-brand knock-offs found here that cost far less than any of these options but provide less performance of course).
Sadly it looks like they lack in the realm of battery life as they only provide around 4 hrs of listening time (up to 12 hrs with the portable charging case). This comes a little small with some of the options we have seen crossing our desks or promised in the near future from crowdfunded campaigns. Thankfully being a part of the Momentum lineup (as mentioned), you can at least expect (hopefully) enhanced performance when compared to some of these other options. The Momentum on-ear headphones, for example, is still one of our favorite on-ear models when it comes to performance and price.
These should have Sennheiser fans pretty excited and will be releasing around the middle of November later this year (2018). They do carry a price tag of around $299.95, marking them as one of the most expensive true wireless options on the market (and here I thought Apple’s buds were far too much), so you will have to make a pretty good dent in that wallet of yours.
