The push for 4K has finally become a winner as the average consumer is defaulting towards 4K and leaving 1080 in the dust. These TVs are selling better than they ever have, and a lot of this is thanks to the fact that 4K has finally reached the price point of where 1080 used to stand. Now the decision is obvious when it comes to making an upgrade or a new addition to your home. However, 8K is already popping up as a competitor as manufacturers keep the war going with something new to dangle above everyone’s heads.
With that, Sony is preparing to launch their new Z9G Master Series lineup of 8K TVs into the market this summer. The lineup only has two models at this time, and as usual, they will be reserved for buyers with a huge budget to help pay for the R&D that went into the making of market-ready 8K. I say that because the lineup features a 98-inch masterpiece, that will only set you back $70,000 (you could buy a brand new Tesla Model S for that kind of cash). The other model is just a tad smaller, at 85-inches, which still makes it quite the monster itself. The 85-inch option comes with a much more reasonable price tag, of just $13,000. Although, that might not sound as reasonable to you (I am just weighing the difference between dollar per inch).
Both of the Z9G Series models will be launching sometime in June of this year, just a few months away. They come with new hardware specs inside to deliver a full UHD HDR experience that should blow your mind (if you can afford it).
With this, Sony is also launching their new A9G Series of 4K TVs, which will act as their latest 4K flagships, ranging from $3,499 to $7,999 in price. These models range from 55-inches to 77-inches in size, and will also accompany their more reasonably priced X950G Series that starts at just $1,399 for the 55-inch option, and works upwards depending on the size from there.
You’ll be seeing these two series hit the market spread out between now and June, just before the Z9G monsters hit the market right after.
