It has taken Sony a little time to catch up, but they are now joining the list of companies offering free games to help keep the many people stuck at home right now entertained. It is part of their new “Play at Home” initiative.
The new initiative aims to provide free games to gamers to help save your sanity during this lockdown while also establishing a fund to help support smaller independent game developers so that they can continue to do what they do best vs having to shut things down due to hardships (they will be releasing more information about the fund on their blog).
As for those free games for gamers! At 8PM (PDT) tonight, the following games will be made available free to download until 8PM (PDT) on May 5th. The games will be yours to keep and attached to the account you used to claim them with, and you do NOT have to be a current PlayStation Plus subscriber (this deal is for “everyone”).
A lot of these companies have gone above and beyond to help contribute towards keeping everyone busy. Thus, there is so much content out there for you to enjoy and to diversify your time with (ie, games, books, comics, software, and more)–much of it being offered for free.
So enjoy your new games and continue to keep your mind entertained during this period of unfortunate world mess. For more games, you can check out our original story listing all sorts of free games that are still available for download.
