One of the larger companies surrounding some of your favorite brands in home audio (like Denon, Polk Audio, and Marantz) is looking to possibly buy Bowers & Wilkins, thus increasing its footprint in the industry when it comes to audiophile sound.
Bowers & Wilkins is one of the most reputable companies in the audiophile community when it comes to the kind of sound that tickles your inner, well, everything. So it isn’t a surprise that a company like Sound United would be interested in acquiring them.
This is just in the early stages of things, so it will be some time before we hear from either company on what the final verdict is.
Bowers and Wilkins is a British-born speaker company that was founded in 1966 by John Bowers and has been a privately held company since. This would act as a landmark within the B&W timeline. If it goes through, it will mean a big change for B&W and it will be interesting to see where they will take the brand in the future.
