For those looking to be among the first to get their hands on a new Surface Book, Microsoft has expanded the pre-orders to Amazon. Of course this only adds to the number of places where you can pre-order it. It does not quicken the arrival of your new Macbook Pro killer as there is still a long list of orders that Microsoft has been working hard to fulfill as the Surface Book sold faster than they could be produced.
If you are looking to get more out of your Surface Book, the Surface Dock is also available for purchase, which will most likely arrive in the mail before your Book does. The Surface Dock features two Mini DisplayPorts ports, a Gigabit Ethernet port, four USB 3.0 ports, and a 3.5mm audio output.
Surprisingly, there is no USB 3.1 (Type-C) port on the Surface Book. There aren’t a lot of gadgets out there yet that support the new soon-to-be standard, but it won’t take long as new products hit the shelves this holiday and going into next year.
The Surface Dock is currently less on Amazon than it is directly from Microsoft. You will still be paying about $180-199 for it though, so all of this will be for those looking to spend all sorts of cash for the products they love, and not for frugal minds.
