Electric modes of transportation are beginning to pick up in popularity as travelers find alternative options to getting stuck in traffic, and companies cash in on rental applications throughout major cities. From skateboards to scooters, bikes and more. There are plenty of electric alternatives to driving around, including electric cars of course if you prefer to reserve your spot during rush hour in that stop and go traffic.
Electric bikes are not a stranger to this new trend, except for the fact that they have only recently started to expand past a small handful of competing companies. Now, you might notice that a lot of the popular retailers have been including these in their inventory. In fact, if you go to Costco right now, you might be able to find one, as they have been recently advertising one in select stores.
Swagtron has been one of the original names in the electric market, and now they have their new EB12 Electric City Bike to add to the menu of choices. Their past bike models focused on small/light solutions, such as mini bikes or scooter/bike hybrids. The EB12 is a full-size option that looks like nearly any other non-electric bicycle on the road. It doesn’t appear to be bulky or unappealing at all in design, and yet it packs a 250-watt motor and a 36-volt Lithium-ion battery.
The battery is conveniently designed to blend in as part of a rear rack on the back of the bike, which can is/can also be used as a rack (of course). It also features USB ports so you can keep your mobile devices charged. The battery can be locked so that no one can simply slide it out and walk away with it, and it looks like it belongs right where it is.
It can last for up to 28 miles on a single charge at up to 16 mph. There is an LED display on the handlebar to monitor battery life with, as well as speed and distance.
The new bike weighs in at $999.99 (same price as the before mentioned bike at Costco!) and is currently available from Best Buy right now!
