T-Mobile has been on a continuous path toward being the most powerful 5G solution out there. Companies like Verizon strive to keep up and have been doing great, but T-Mobile constantly works at trying to inch one step further.
Although the evolution of 5G hasn’t quite moved as quickly as the company had hoped (most likely thanks to the pandemic much like everything else), T-Mobile is once again on that path toward continuous improvements. Now, it is rolling out the mid-band Ultra Capacity spectrum to its 5G nationwide network.
The benefit? T-Mobile says that it paves “the way for groundbreaking applications that leverage super-fast speeds, ultra-reliable low latency (real-time responsiveness), massive connectivity and more” while providing speeds of up to 3Gbps (theoretically). Theoretically, since this is per their own internal tests and doesn’t include real-world results with millions of people on the same spectrum sucking up all that bandwidth at the same time. Regardless, though, this may significantly increase bandwidth for many devices that support this spectrum and prove, yet again, that T-Mobile wants nothing but first-place.
The company said that they are “only scratching the surface on what 5G can do”, thus you can expect to see continued growth of the network and its resources in the near future as it plans out its next steps. In the meantime, T-Mobile said that the Samsung Galaxy S22 will be the firs to be able to take advantage of it in the coming weeks with additional devices soon after.
