It is always exciting to watch how new technologies are changing the way we drive. From safety systems that go above and beyond what we have been used to for so many years, to cars that completely drive themselves. With that, vehicles from Tesla have been at the top of the charts when it comes to both wow factor and having a lot of pressure from authorities as they continue to usher in a new world of automobiles.
Today we get to take a look at one of these “wow moments”, where a Tesla Model 3 was making its way down a snowy Ohio State Route 2 (SR 2) earlier this year. The driver might have been going a little faster than they should have given the conditions. However, they were quite lucky to have quick reflexes. In addition to this, the driver claims to have had Tesla’s autopilot engaged at the time, which led to “little to no intervention” required on the driver’s part.
If that latter part is true, it would make for an amazing example of some of the enhanced safety features found within a Tesla vehicle. Something the company should jump at including in their ongoing research into making these vehicles better with each update (Tesla likely has already reached out to the driver, I’m sure).
You can experience what he (the driver) went through on the road in the below video. A quick correction that not only prevented the vehicle from sliding off the road or into the rail but also left him pointing in the right direction and continuing down the road without ever coming to a stop. Truly what must have felt like a James Bond moment (that he will never want to experience again).
