Google has released its latest generation mini smart home speaker into the wild, and in doing so, has consumed the name into their Nest line of products. The new Google Nest Mini Speaker itself is nearly the same as before, outside of improvements made to audio including enhanced bass.
To accomplish the new improvements, upgrades were made to both its software and hardware, focusing on better sound more than anything else. The bass is now twice as strong as it was, similar to one of the latest enhancements to the Echo Dot speakers. There have also been improvements to the microphones to help better hear within noisy environments, including the ability to increase the volume of Google Assistant automatically to compensate for the surrounding noise.
You can stream across all Google speakers throughout the home or transfer what you’re listening to from speaker to speaker as you change rooms using a simple voice command. You can call between speakers using the intercom option or use the speaker to call others using an associated Google Duo account.
They, of course, support everything else you have grown to enjoy with the original Google speakers as well.
You get four color options to pick from, including charcoal (black), sky (blue), coral (red) and chalk (gray). MSRP is $49.99, matching it to the original speaker and it is available right now from your favorite retailers that carry Google products, like Best Buy (button below).
