When traveling, it isn’t always a user-friendly experience when it comes to connecting to public Wi-Fi solutions. Maybe it is the hotel you are staying at or the convention space you are attending. Sometimes connecting to these networks can involve jumping through hoops to get going. Which may be fine if you are using a single device, but if you are using multiple devices, it can become a headache quickly. This is where the TP-Link BE3600 Wi-Fi 7 Travel Router swoops in to save the day.
This tiny little router not only keeps a small footprint, making it incredibly easy to travel around with, but it also promises to solve these issues by making it so that you only have to log into these networks once. You do so by using the router’s web interface to log into the public Wi-Fi source, even if it has special portal login requirements. Once you have done this, you simply add your devices to the router instead of the public Wi-Fi directly.
If you have already used this router with those devices, then you don’t have to do anything, as once the router joins a new source of Wi-Fi, your devices will already be connecting and ready to go. There is no having to configure the public Wi-Fi on each device since the router is sharing one login event. Even more useful if you have devices that don’t have a built-in browser to comply with special portal requirements (ie, security camera, or any other device that simply has an SSID/password field but no other way to interact with login requirements).
The travel router is capable of up to 3.6 Gbps of total throughput (bandwidth), which is more than enough (at this point in time) when traveling for the average consumer. It also supports VPNs, allowing you to make use of your favorite VPN so that all of your connected devices will be making use of it. Beyond that, having a 2.5Gbps WAN port and support for Wi-Fi 7 gives this little router a lot of muscle in a small package.
It retails for $139.99 and can be found via Amazon. You can make use of the code “30WIFI7” for $30 off, bringing that price down to $109.99. The price seems a bit high for how small this router is, but it doesn’t slack in the feature list, so it doesn’t really come at a surprise.
