Check out Microsoft’s big Inside Xbox event where they previewed some of the new games we have to look forward to.
Games are being shown with gameplay footage to show off the abilities of the new Xbox Series X console. Some of these games include Scorn, Chorvs – Rise as One, Madden 21, Dirt 5, Call of the Sea, Yakuza – Like a Dragon, The Medium, and more.
With that, we can see that not everyone is taking advantage of everything the console has to offer. Games like Vampire – The Masquerade and The Ascent seem to be scaling it back (although they still look quite interesting). Ultimately, it is up to each developer to determine how much effort they want to put into the detail of each game. Let it be time constraints or smaller budgets, we are always going to have a mixture of quality when it comes to graphics (which is fine, as long as gameplay elements like the story fill in the gap). Of course, with the new console, there is also a very solid highlight on its ability to raise the framerate, which is going to have a major effect on TVs that support the same.
Some of these also look visually stunning. Games like Scorn, Chorvs, and Assasin’s Creed Valhalla look like they are going to be a blast, with detailed environments and fun player abilities/controls. Assasin’s Creed Valhalla’s footage being the first actual gameplay footage we have seen from the game thus far.
It isn’t exactly what some may have hoped to get a sneak peek of, as clearly, there are much larger titles like Assasin’s Creed that we’ve all been waiting to see (ie, Halo?). It also doesn’t feel like any of the developers have had the opportunity to really push the console to its limits just yet. So we can likely expect to see games roll out with graphics that are far better than what we’ve seen thus far. Although games like Assasin’s Creed and Senua’s Saga – Hellblade II (previously announced) really do give off the right vibes when it comes to what the Xbox Series X console can deliver.
