Microsoft recently announced that Windows 10 will natively support the MKV and H.265 HEVC formats and now they are at it again, this time with another format (flac) showing they are ready to catch up to the rest of the codec world.
This information was leaked by Gabriel Aul with the following tweet:

Now users won’t have to rely so much on finding 3rd party software such as VLC Player for their high quality audio and video needs. Given, if you are one of those people, you’ll probably still chase after VLC for its “always ahead of the times” compatibility for just about everything. At least now Windows using audiophiles can enjoy their losslessly recorded music right out of the box with Windows 10 as it catches up to the rest of the digital audio/video world.
