Withings has announced a new product this CES 2024 in Las Vegas this week that it says will revolutionize the way we experience telehealth visits (virtual appointments with your doctor). Not only that but it provides insight into various vitals of your current state of health. It is the new BeamO at-home multiscope health checkup device.
The company is well-known for its efforts within the personal health industry. We have tested a number of products, including their Withings Thermo, which makes for an excellent content-free smart thermometer at home. Now it has taken that technology and merged it together. Creating a thermometer, electrocardiogram (ECG), oximeter, and stethoscope all merged into one device.
Its focus is to measure heart and lung health. Allowing you to collect similar data to what doctors typically do during a physical visit. You can collect your blood oxygenation (SpO2) and heart rate readings simultaneously while also conducting a medical-grade 1-lead ECG. It can collect your core body temperature, just like the Thermo does, It can also capture chest or back acoustic soundwaves through a Piezoelectric disc where you can audibly monitor using a USB-C to headphones adapter.
It features a built-in LED display so that you can see the results live and syncs everything to the Withings app. Not only that but it provides the ability to stream audio to your telehealth doctor so they can listen and guide you on where to aim it.
The Withings BeamO plans to launch in June (2024) for an MSRP of $249.95. Currently, it is still undergoing full approval by the FDA before it can properly release. Withings products can commonly be found via retailers like Amazon.com.
