Vizio announce their new M-Series Ultra HDR TV line-up

0

We were just recently caught red handed having fun with one of Vizio‘s now “previous generation” models, the 70-inch M70-C3. An Ultra 4K TV that kicks a lot of rear for the price being that it is 70 freaking inches and less than $2,000 (currently $1899). This TV is wonderful for both games, movies and TV. Yet, Vizio thinks that isn’t good enough. They have now announced their latest generation in their M-Series of TVs and they come with a new name!–VIZIO’s SmartCast M-Series Ultra HD HDR Home Theater Displays (now that’s a mouth full).

The new TVs support full 4K and HDR playback in both files and connected devices and features Dolby Vision support. You get full-array LED backlighting with up to 64 “Active LED Zones” (depending on which model you buy).

They also feature built-in support for Google Cast for easily casting of your Android screens wirelessly with and inside the box is a 6-inch Android Tablet that also functions as your remote, with Vizio’s SmartCast app pre-installed.

The M-Series truly represents a breakthrough in how consumers access and control content. The VIZIO Tablet Remote with pre-loaded VIZIO SmartCast app is a game-changer, delivering an advanced user experience that brings home entertainment into the mobile era,” said Matt McRae, Chief Technology Officer, VIZIO. “The M-Series also brings forth major advancements in picture quality by rendering images with superior Ultra HD quality and delivering High Dynamic Range with Dolby Vision support. This viewing experience reveals varying levels of shadows and accentuates highlights, resulting in more lifelike on-screen imagery.

Better  features, better color, better details, better blacks + free tablet remote == better M-Series. We look forward to hopefully getting a close up so that we can put one of them to the test and let you know what we think. For now you will have to wait it out until they start hitting stores. We will make sure to provide you with links once we have them.

The new M-Series starts with their 50-inch model and an MSRP of $850 and works up from there to their new 80-inch beast–the kind of TV that we absolutely love to benchmark and talk about, so hopefully our next report will include something about it.
