Electric vehicles are exploding right now as brands rush to deliver their own EV solutions into the world and compete against the likes of Tesla (who still, currently, owns the market as number one). In this, new features that have never been seen before in any vehicle have been popping up all over (also something Tesla takes the lead on, currently). These new innovations are making driving fun again and you never know what will come next.
But what do you think should be the next innovation for EVs? For example, you may soon be able to play your favorite Steam games inside a Tesla, turning the vehicle into a full blown gaming system when it isn’t active on the road (except for the back seats that can play at all times in certain models).
Feel free to take a moment to share your own ideas in the comments below. You might even inspire one of the companies to take the challenge on.
Example: I know I personally would like to see remote voice commands. Voice commands are something that vehicles like Tesla do very well. Reducing the need of having to thumb through menus to find the options you want. But what if you aren’t inside the car and you want to trigger something like cabin temperature, or to open the trunk (or frunk)? Currently, you have to open an app, wait for it to load, and eventually find the feature you want (if it’s even available from the app). However, I’d like to see the ability to trigger certain features using my voice from the app. Like add a microphone button to the app that acts just like triggering voice commands inside the car. Right now, you can technically do this with certain cars like Tesla through certain work arounds like Tessa or Tasker, but it would be nice to have a more direct solution that doesn’t need any work-arounds and supports everything the car does natively.
There are so potentials that haven’t been thought of yet. So feel free to share your own idea below in the comments.

Blind spot assists built into the side mirrors would be good. I’ve seen those before on a non-EV model. I forget where, but it sounded like a great idea since you are looking at the mirror when switching lanes and thus its better to have a notification there than in the opposite direction like the center console or something strange.
More displays. The 3 is a nice car but it is WAY too minimal. So much that it looks boring to me. If I am going to spend money on the future, I want it to look futuristic. More lights, more screen (etc).
I could agree with the voice control via remote idea. You’d only need so many voice commands that you’d want to have access to though. That being said, the ones you would would be useful to have.
What? Nobody?? Well then…..FIRST one here!!!!
I think that these vehicles are absolutely fantastic the way they are including with what they are currently already in beta with. In other words focus on the technologies like FSD and stop adding other odd features. They will be more impressive for these prices they are asking for if they actually were state of the art and game changing. However, FSD has been in beta for such a long time now thus I’m not impressed and won’t buy one. When the day comes that these cars change the world with a properly intelligent system that drives better than a human, I’m in all the way!! Until then, I’ll stick to my Hyundai Sonata gas-fed vehicle.
