This is going to be another big year for true wireless earbuds. The sheer amount of options we ran into at CES this month barely scratches the surface for what’s out there, and there was a lot of models to take in. Today, we cover one of the models coming from the company Tribit, with their X1 True Wireless Earbuds.
The X1 buds seem to be focused on providing an entry-level solution for consumers, with a lower price point of around $40-$50. They are quite small and deliver a basic range for buds with a high focus on mid-high to high frequencies more than anything else.

These buds really are tiny. The over-all design features plastic just about everywhere (as expected) and they come with three separate silicone tips, covering your small, medium and large sizes. They seem to be best for smaller ears as the tip sizes don’t go as large as some.
The charging case literally feels tiny in your hands in itself, so you can get an idea of how large the buds themselves are. A fantastic solution for those looking to easily slide the case into your pocket without having to worry about it fitting or bulking out too much.
They automatically kick into charging when placed into the case and their light shines through the lid when closed over them, slightly diffused with a cool effect.
You are supposed to get up to 18 hours of play time with the case as you charge them inside in between uses. So you have plenty of usage time before having to plug the case in. It comes with a small/short cable for charging it with, or you can use any other micro-USB cable if you need more length.

Their button on each bud acts as a multi-option solution for turning them on or off, although they do come on automatically when removed from the case and shut off when you place them inside. This is always an important feature when competing with the rest of the market. Seems to be a standard, but there are companies out there that forget to add this. The button also functions as your play control and triggering your digital assistant.
You get around 30 ft of distance from the connected device, which is a about average for wireless buds in general and good for true wireless.
Audio quality is average in our opinion. As mentioned, there is a high focus on mid-high to high frequencies. Tribit does advertise them as featuring a strong bass presence, but we didn’t find this. This might be because the tips they included don’t go as large as other models. So even with the largest buds, they felt a bit small/loose in the ears. They could benefit from a larger bud size to properly get some more of that low-end with.
As for the mid-highs and highs, they are really crisp, adding to vocals and other elements. Great for taking phone calls.
They are also water-resistant to protect against sweat for when you are working out or running in a light rain. They survived a light splash test by us and should be able to fend off these situations just fine without any troubles.
As mentioned, they come with three tip sizes and the short micro-USB cable. You obviously get the charging case as well, and a few documents to talk about warranty, usage and so forth. It’s a simple box with simple contents.
Our Conclusion
These buds are a good entry-level option that are super small. The small footprint is probably its highest selling point, as well as Bluetooth 5.0 support. Distance from the connected device is pretty good and you get a lot of battery life out of these. They come with everything you need mostly, although they could benefit from having a large tip size as they don’t fit mid to larger ears as tight as they could. Because of this (at least for us), any bass was barely noticeable. This one drawback alone is what brought the score down this time around. For the price tag, we feel the range should be a bit more present than what it is. Beyond that, these are tiny and fit well in small spaces like your pocket and prove to be another positive product from Tribit.
