I had listened to multiple broken promises of noise cancelation in the past. Many companies promising the perfect escape from your immediate environment. None of which ever worked well enough to take seriously. Then, out of nowhere, came the first time I ever stopped in my tracks to experience something that actually delivered on that promise. I was at a Costco, around 15 feet away from a mother and her screaming child. Upon placing those nasty store-demo headphones on my head, everything went away and all I could hear was the music. I smiled while watching that kid throw a complete tantrum and eventually walked out of the store with a pair of my own.
That was a model from Bose, and since then I bought one other (the Bose QC 35 II headphones) thanks to how well the performance of the last won me over. This year, the company launched the latest in the line, the Bose QuietComfort 45 ANC headphones, which brought a few new options to the table, such as adding ANC to your calls so your voice comes through nice and clear vs the noise around you, along with 24 hours listening time, a USB-C port, and a number of other options.
Mind you, the new QC 45 headphones have only been out for a few months now. Despite this, the company already offered them for a great price during the Black Friday sales period last month ($279 from $329). They have actually been at this price ever since, allowing them to finish the year off at that price. Even though Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and even Christmas has passed, you still have a chance at taking advantage of it. This price drop can be seen almost everywhere too.
It was nice to see that the QC 45 model pretty much took the place of the 35 II’s while pretty much continuing the torch as if nothing changed. Another great pair of headphones coming from a company that really knows how to deliver strong ANC while also providing a really decent range of sound.
