Just in case you think that their 1TB version of their DataTraveler Ultimate GT wasn’t large enough, you now have less of a reason to carry around a WD Passport drive as Kingston will be releasing their now 2TB version next month, making it that much easier to keep that kind of storage in your pocket.
The new drive will support USB 3.1 Gen 1, giving you a lot of speed to go along with that storage, creating a perfect balance. Just imagine how much information you can take on the road with you now. From hours upon hours of 4K footage to just about every photo you have ever taken in life (and then some maybe).
It features a zinc-alloy metal casing for durability and shock resistance. So in case you’re afraid of it falling out of your pocket as you take to the highways in your Kawasaki Ninja, fear not. This little guy will be able to take quite the beating to make sure your data makes it safely to its destination.
The big question is how much it will cost. Currently you may find it difficult to find the 1TB drive anywhere. It’s available and you can get it on Amazon, but you don’t want to know how much it is going for. If I had to guess though, I’d say the MSRP won’t be nearly as bad for the 2TB model when it launches next month.
