One of the biggest challenges plaguing electric vehicles (EV) is how far they can go on a single charge. Few have come close to the capabilities of Tesla vehicles, leading to Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, recently reminding the world that they are more than welcome to license some of the technology that makes Tesla so awesome.
Some of the biggest automotive manufacturers have been hard at work to come up with their own approaches to EVs, but most have been falling short when it comes to range, some having to charge more than once to get 300 miles away (ie, Las Vegas, NV to San Diego, CA). Then you have Tesla vehicles which can make it quite far on a single charge but are just too expensive for most. This has allowed gas vehicles to still be the most coveted thanks to the lack of these range restrictions. This is beginning to change though.
Companies are getting closer to finding the right improvements on battery technology and consumption, allowing more options into the long-range categories, and Lucid is one of these companies. Lucid’s new Lucid Air sedan has been going under intensive testing as they prepare for production in 2021 and it has some neat specs that come with it. They claim that this new EV can travel more than 500 miles on a single battery charge, which does a good job of setting a new record if this is true. This beats Tesla, which will force Tesla to up their game as well.

This is exactly what we need to stimulate the industry and help move things forward, and this places two companies at the top (as long as they get to production with it without any of this changing), with others slowly trailing behind (way behind, but getting there).
