Microsoft launches a new Xbox controller color and the internet loses its mind. Well, not really, but it sure did cause a lot of chatter on platforms like Reddit and Twitter. Maybe because it’s another off-normal color option that helps take you away from some of the plain black and white.
It is the new Velocity Green Wireless Xbox Controller and it is currently available now via Microsoft’s website as well as select retailers (links below). It’s MSRP is $64.99 (the current normal MSRP for wireless Xbox controllers).
The new controller features a mostly (“velocity”) green design that spans the front and sides of the controller body, as well as the thumbsticks, the letters of each of the four main buttons (X, Y, A, B), and the three additional buttons across the front/center. The backside of the controller is white with black triggers and top section (and black directional pad).
Adding to the many color options you have now when ordering a new wireless Xbox controller. And just like the other modern Xbox controller models, it features native support for Bluetooth, allowing you to connect it to your computer, laptop, or nearly any mobile device that accepts a controller via Bluetooth (smartphone, tablet, etc).
What do you think about the new controller design? Planning on jumping on one yourself? Which do you prefer: the new Velocity Green or the Volt Yellow/Green model? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.
