IFTTT has created a new path for itself, looking to satisfy users who need more then just “if this, then that” functionality. They have done this by launching IFTTT Pro, a service that extends itself to more complicated scenarios.
With Pro, you get options like multi-step applets, queries and conditional logic, multiple actions, and faster applet execution. Think of something like Smartthings and IFTTT merged together in ways, only it isn’t just about the devices in your home. This is more like the Smartthings for the internet and the various services that connect with IFTTT (and then the devices in your home or office if necessary).
It would be nice to see multi-action applets for normal users as well, but this is a start at least (never know, they might trickle things down to the normal free accounts eventually). For now, you get a super-powered option that will run you $9.99/month.
Right now they are still trying to mold it into something, so they are letting you pick your own price for the first year (at least until October 7th). This way you don’t feel put off by their attempts to squeeze your mind for suggestions and thoughts through the process. Without your input, they won’t know how to make it into something you need most, after all.
Update (09/16/2020): They have adjusted their details for the “pick your own price” promotion and have said they will honor the price for the life of the account.
Update (10/10/2020): They have also extended the period of being able to pick your own price through the end of October now.
