OWC strikes again with a new product launch targeting those within the creative and other professional industries. This time, it’s the “OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual with 3-Port Hub“. Their Mercury line covers both internal and external storage solutions, including everything from SSD drives to external enclosure options. The latter of those two is where this falls in with some extra features.
The new enclosure features two drive bays that can receive either 2.5″ or 3.5” drive options (SSD or HDD) and transfer data between a connected system at up to 1GBps (1026MBps) depending on the drives inside. It has built-in RAID features that allow you to select your desired RAID configuration via the back of the unit–making this quite the user-friendly option.
Also on the back are three additional USB ports, turning this enclosure into a full USB hub to help multi-task that connection running to your laptop/PC/Mac/mobile device with. Not only that, but it is all USB 3.2, granting you plenty of speed between your devices. So you can use these additional ports for other peripherals or drives.
You are able to buy into the enclosure/hub solution by itself (for those working with their own drives), but it also comes in multiple flavors with the drives already supplied inside. They have options covering everything from 2TB to 32TB via HDD or 2TB to 8TB via SSD.
