Samsung is set to launch their new 860 QVO SSD line, looking to offer higher capacities and more affordable solutions for consumers, while avoiding any sacrifice to the speeds you have grown to love over the years.
The new drives feature Samsung’s high-density 4-bit multi-level cell (MLC) NAND flash architecture, allowing them to bring the price of these drives down while competing against regular HDD solutions by offering up to 4TB in capacity. They boast 550 MB/s (read) and 520 MB/s (write) speeds, making sure you still have one of the fastest SATA solutions on the market for your system, unbeatable without moving to a PCIe M.2 solution.
“Today’s consumers are using, producing and storing more high-resolution files than ever, including 4K videos and graphics-intensive games, escalating demand for greater capacities and performance in storage devices,” said Dr. Mike Mang, vice president of Brand Product Marketing, Memory Business at Samsung Electronics.
The new drives will be available as 1TB, 2TB and 4TB options, making them perfect for any laptop or desktop build, and boosting speeds that are significantly faster than a regular spinning drive. Perfect for your main OS drive.
They are launching into the market December 16, 2018, beginning at just $149.99 for the 1TB model.
