Available October 31st and available for pre-order at major retailers, Microsoft has a whole new controller available for advanced players who love their Xbox One. The new Elite Controllers open a whole new world of customization and control, merging the PC and Console worlds even further
The new controllers offer a slew of features, such as the ability to swap out thumbsticks and directional-pads and the option to remap every single button for the ultimate customized experience. No more fretting over trying to determine which controller profile you want to play with, when there are usually always a few buttons in each that don’t quite match up to your style of play. There are also paddles on the rear side that you can assign to what function you need and you have full control over the sensitivity settings of the thumbsticks.
Configuration is handled by its app where you can store 255 unique configurations in the Xbox Live cloud to give every game its own touch. You can even store 2 of those profiles directly on the controller that can be swapped between using a physical switch located on the front side.
The new controller was initially announced at this year’s E3 convention and comes with an assortment of swappable pieces. Inside the box you will find 4 paddles, 6 thumbsticks and two directional-pads (faceted and standard). There is also a USB cable, two AA batteries (non-rechargeable of course since they want you to buy into the optional recharge pack still) and your instructionals.
It may not be available to pick up just yet, but as mentioned, it can be pro-ordered from various retailers such as Amazon. That way you can guarantee that you will be one of the first to take advantage of it. The price is a little high at $149, but most advanced gamers would agree that the perks are worth it.
Now all you will need is the new chatpad releasing in November, and you will be unstoppable. The chatpad also has plans in the mix that will open customizable features to the keys sometime in 2016. Now if only you can add some custom button paddles where you can throw a grenade each time you lean in a specific direction or “move air”
