We have been testing Xiaomi’s new Band 3 (fitness tracker) for the last week to see how well it compares with some of our favorites. At the current price tag (only $29 via Gearbest.com! — See conclusion below for additional code), it was hard not to find a jaw drop here or there as we dug into its surprising list of features. Not only does it come with quite an acceptable price, but it competes well against most of your familiar brands like Fitbit, Jawbone, and more. Before we get into the functions though, we are going to take a…

The new Xbox One X gaming console is now rolling out to consumers with its release today, and you can bet this will be one of the hottest demands for the holidays this season. However, with all of the neat perks you get with the new console, it won’t be the only thing in demand. With perks like 4K video and HDR comes the demand for capacity as these games are not forgiving when it comes to size. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction (Newton’s Third Law). In this case, we have extraordinary graphics and performance. Enhancements brought…

Microsoft is currently working on a new delivery system for digital (download) games on the Xbox One family of consoles that will open some free space on your hard drive for additional games and content. Known as Intelligent Delivery, it will take a new approach to downloading this content to your console, breaking the game up while picking and choosing what fits your requirements best instead of downloading the entire game in whole. With this, it will decrease the amount of time it takes for users to download their favorite games onto their console, and open their drives up to future…
It’s that time again to rush out and grab your free games if you are an Xbox Live Gold subscriber. This month’s games are live and ready for the taking, and there are a few titles to brag about. First up and probably what will be the most widely accessed (by those who haven’t already bought it), is Forza Motorsport 5, which is clearly is a timed-release to get everyone amped up and prepared for the upcoming Forza Motorsport 7 on the Xbox One X releasing in November. Forza proves time and time again to be a highly addicting racing…
No surprise here, as Microsoft has set the ball in motion to end production and sales of the original Xbox One consoles. Originally released nearly four years ago (November 2013), the original console will be quickly living in the shadow of the Xbox One X when it arrives later this year, and the Xbox One S already surpasses its abilities as is. So there is no point in keeping the original around when consumers can get the One S for less and get more from it. November of this year will mark the launch of the new Xbox One X,…
Microsoft researchers have developed remote control glider known as a sailplane, that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to control its own flight. They tested it in the desert of Hawthorne Nevada, where the glider took flight successfully, as researchers followed behind in a jeep, tracking its progress. The software on board analyzes its flight data to predict things like thermal currents, which are natural occurrences of rising air due to heat. By taking advantage of these conditions, the plane can chart the best course possible to stay in the air, without any need of a motor. The idea, to soar like…
Connected devices in homes have experienced a massive growth spurt this year. This spurt has even given birth to new studies that promise higher numbers “by the end of next year” or “2020”, than what study groups predicted before (I think we have all seen these by now). The year 2020 is still a few years off, yet we are already hitting or surpassing some of the original predictions within the world of IoT. There are many reasons for this, but the most common are the handful of user-friendly hubs that have been growing in popularity. Solutions like Google’s Home…
A lot of speculation and concern has been making its way around the web, as some PC users panic at the idea of losing the iconic MS Paint from Windows 10. This has been triggered by the news that Microsoft will be removing MS Paint from the general installation of Windows 10 in an upcoming major update rolling out to the OS this year (Fall Creators Update). Thankfully, there is more to it than just that (and it isn’t going anywhere–per se). Microsoft pointed out that the new Paint 3D will be included free with Windows and will contain many…
