In the need for an upgrade in space? For those hungry hearts, Seagate has a 6TB hard drive that is perfect for such needs. The PC station I am writing this article from has 3x 1.5TB drives, and that used to be impressive (now it’s a bit lacking). Our inside ears also tell us that they plan to announce even better things at CES next January, for products coming some time around March. Gives us more reason to rip all of our Blu-Ray movies to our network for a digital on-demand library, so that we can toss the bulky discs in storage.
The Specs:
- 6TB storage capacity with SATA III, 6Gb/s NCQ Interface
- 128MB Cache
- Seagate AcuTrac servo technology delivers dependable performance
- Seagate OptiCache technology boosts overall performance by as much as 45% over the previous generation.
- Seagate Smart Align technology provides a simple, transparent migration to Advanced Format 4K sectors.
- Best Fit Applications include: Desktop or all-in-one PCs, Home servers , PC-based game systems, Desktop RAID, Direct attached external storage devices (DAS), Network attached storage devices (NAS)
If we get our hands on one, we will make sure to run a review.
